Voting

January 23, 2006

James 2:26

Faith without works is dead.

Put your faith into action and vote!

Saturday, January 21, 2006

Day 21 - January 22, 2006

Pray that people would vote with a mindset to do what is pleasing to God.

Acts 1:24

Then they prayed "Lord, you konw everyone's heart. Show us which of these two you have chosen.

As we are about to vote we need people to keep in mind the will of God. God's will must be the agenda. Morality and ethics can't be ignored. Voting selfishly for my personal gain over issues of morality and ethics is not right. Pray that people will vote with a heart for God's will on election day.

Lamentations

Day 20 - January 21, 2006

Pray for backsliders to come back to God

Lamentations 3:40

Let us examine our ways and test them, and let us return to the Lord.

There are thousands of people in Canada who have a Christian background and are not serving the Lord. Pray for them to come to repentance and get right with God.

Day 19 - January 20, 2006

Pray for Canadians to turn to God with all their heart

Joel 2:12-14

'Even now,' declares the Lord, 'return to me with all your heart, with fasting and weeping and mourning.' Rend your heart and not your garments. Return to the Lord your God, for he is gracious and compassionate, slow to anger and abounding in love, and he relents from sending calamity. Who knows? He may turn and have pity and leave behind a blessing.

Focus today on praying for repentance and the salvation of our nation. Pray for a return to Biblical values and morals. The big issue here is the heart attitude of those doing the voting. To change our government, we must see the people of Canada change too.

Thursday, January 19, 2006

Day 18 - January 19, 2006

Pray for Canadians to turn from their own personal sin

2 Chronicles 7:14

If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land.

It's not enough to pray for Godly leaders, but we need to pray for the voters as well. Pray for Canadians to turn from their own sin...including the sin of apathy and cynicism that keeps them from voting at election time.

Prayers are Answered

Day 17 - January 18, 2006

God is answering our prayers

1 Peter 3:12

For the eyes of the Lord are on the righteous and his ears are attentive to their prayer, but the face of the Lord is against those who do evil."

Be encouraged - as you pray today you can declare this verse as a promise from God over your prayers!

Convictions

Day 16 - January 17, 2006

Pray for leaders with Godly convictions

1 Thessalonians 2:4

On the contrary, we speak as men approved by God to be entrusted with the gospel. We are not trying to please men but God, who tests our hearts.

We need to have leaders with Godly convictions so that they are not swayed by people who have ungodly agendas. Pray for leaders to stand by their Godly convictions.

Deliver from the Wicked

Day 15 - January 16, 2006

Pray that our government is delivered from wicked and evil people.

2 Thessalonians 3:2

And pray that we may be delivered from wicked and evil men, for not everyone has faith.

Wicked means: out of harmony with God. Pray that those out of harmony with God would not be supported. Pray as well that we wouldn't get a government that promises much during this campaign and then doesn't deliver afterwards - that is simply evil and manipulative.

Wisdom

Day 14 - January 15, 2006

Pray for leaders who will lead with wisdowm

2 Chronicles 1:10

Give me wisdom and knowledge, that I may lead this people, for who is able to govern this great people of yours?

Our future is going to be founded on the wisdom of those who lead us. Pray for leaders who have the wisdom to lead us, to be voted in.

Nothing to be Hidden

Day 13 - January 14, 2005

Pray that nothing will be hidden but that people will know the truth about who they are voting for.

Mark 4:22

For whatever is hidden is meant to be disclosed, and whatever is concealed is meant to be brought out into the open.

Elections can have a way of seeking to hide and obscure the issues that should be clear and in the open. Pray that hidden things, important to elections would be revealed. Pray that Canadians would know the issues and not vote in ignorance.

Friday, January 13, 2006

Clarity

Day 12 - January 13, 2006

Pray for clarity in this election between the blameless and the unfaithful.

Proverbs 2:21-22

For the upright will live in the land, and the blameless will remain in it; but the wicked will be cut off from the land, and the unfaithful will be torn from it.

We need to uphold accountability in prayer and believe for a clarity about the issues, the people and the stands of parties and candidates. Pray that everything would be made clear.

Word of God

Day 11 - January 12, 2006

Pray for leaders who respect the Word of God

Psalms 2:10-11

Therefore, you kings, be wise; be warned, you rulers of the earth. Serve the Lord with fear and rejoice with trembling.

Pray for leaders who have knowledge and reverence for the Bible. Believe God for leaders who respect and obey what the Word of God has to say about morality.

Wednesday, January 11, 2006

Righteousness

Day 10- January 11, 2006

Pray for leaders who will lead from a position of righteousness

Proverbs 29:2

When the righteous thrive, the people rejoice; when the wicked rule, the people groan.

Let's ask for leaders who live in righteousness and are pleasing to God with their lives.

Honesty & Integrity

Day 9 - January 10, 2006

Pray for leaders with honesty and integrity

Psalms 43:1

Vindicate me, O God, and plead my cause against an ungodly nation; rescue me from deceitful and wicked men.

Pray that the character qualities of honesty and integrity would become the standard of the new government

Monday, January 09, 2006

Day 8 - January 9, 2006

Pray that ungodly leaders would be removed and not put in office

Job 34:29-30

But if he remains silent, who can condemn him? If he hides his face, who can see him? Yet he is over man and nation alike, to keep a godless man from ruling, from laying snares for the people.

We have permission from scripture to pray out ungodly governing officials and to pray in those who will be godly. Pray out those who have promoted immoral laws and financial abuse. Pray in godly people who have integrity.

God's Guidance For Our Nation

Day 7 - January 8, 2006

God's Guidance For Our Nation

Psalms 67:4

May the nations be glad and sing for joy, for you rule the peoples justly and guide the nations of the earth.

We should pray for God to guide this election and our nation. Pray that God would rule over the people and guide them as they vote too!

Saturday, January 07, 2006

Justice and Righteousness

Day 6 - January 7 2006

Justice and Righteousness

Isaiah 9:6-7

For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Councelor. Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. Of the increase of his government and peace there wil be no end. He will reign on David's throne and over his kingdom, establishing and upholding it with justice and righteousness from that time on and forever. The zeal of the Lord Almighty will accomplish this.

Injustice and unrighteousness have been the news of our past government. From financial scandals to redefining marriage we've not had justice or righteousness. Pray for a return of righteousness and justice to our government.

One God

Day 5 - January 6, 2005

One God

Psalms 33:12

Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord, the people he chose for his inheritance.

We want a government who's God is the Lord. The "god" of money, popularity and self interest are among the list of "gods" that have been served in the past. Let's pray for our government and nation to turn back to recognizing one God - the Lord Jesus.

Return To Our Foundations

Day 4 - January 5, 2006

Return To Our Foundations

Psalms 72:8

He shall have dominion also from sea to sea. and from the river unto the ends of the earth.

Canada was called "the dominion of Canada" by Mr. Tilley when our country was founded. Today we are proclaiming and agreeing with this, that our Country would return to it's roots and that Jesus would have dominion here.

Pursue the Will of God

Day 3 - January 4, 2006

Pursue the Will of God

Matthew 6:10

Your kingdom come, your will be done on earth as it is in heaven.

The elections are not about the will of any man or Political Party, but the will of God. That is our prayer today, that we have God's will established in our government.

Tuesday, January 03, 2006

Pray in Faith

Day 2 - January3, 2005

Pray in Faith

Mathew 21:22
If you believe, you will receive whatever you ask for in prayer

As we pray for the 2006 election we do so from a stand point of faith, knowing that God promises to answer us if we pray believing. Take to heart what this scripture says and let your prayers be founded on a confidence towards God.

Commissioned To Pray

For the new year I am hopefully going to adhere to a prayer calendar that I was given from the church. It is a 21 day outline of prayer ideas, of course I am not going to write my prayers, but I encourage anyone who reads this blog to check out the daily outline.

Day 1 January 2, 2006

Commissioned To Pray

1 Timothy 2:1-4
I urge, then, first of all, that requests, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for everyone - for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness. This is good, and pleases God our Savior, who wants all men to be saved and to come to a knowledge of the truth.

God expects and commissions us to pray for our leaders (government). He also promises us that our lives will be impacted by it and as well the freedom for the ministry of the gospel. With that in mind begin today to pray for the elections and the government that will be established through it.
