Here today Gone tomorrow

Unfortunately my new spiderling did not live long enough to receive a name. Baby spiders are hard to take care of! S/he was eating a lot and had adequate moisture, but still failed to survive. The only thing that I can think of is that perhaps there was a microscopic fungus in the soil that plugged up the book lungs. Better luck next time!

Chilean Rose Tarantula

The reptile show was last weekend, so I had to add another critter to the collection. The species, Grammostola rosea, is a very popular tarantula and tends to be calm and docile, so it can possibly be handled. I will post pictures of the actual spiderling once I find my photo USB cord.
